Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology hires new chief operations officer
Wolfgang Ehrk will become chief operations officer (COO) of Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG and a member of the management board, effective 1 January 2020.
As COO, Ehrk will be responsible for continuous improvement, global operations, procurement, quality and EHS (environment, health and safety) as well as supply chain.
Ehrk most recently worked as COO for Chiron Group, an international manufacturer of CNC controlled vertical processing and turning centres. Ehrk has also had a 26-year career with vacuum technology company Leybold GmbH, serving in a number of management and leadership positions, including about eight years as COO.
“Mr Ehrk is well prepared to lead our global operations due to his lengthy experience in the vacuum technology market and his comprehensive expertise,” said Ayla Busch, chairwoman of Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology’s supervisory board. “With him, we aim to drive our strategy to gain market share and improve our operating efficiencies.”
